A BIT ABOUT ME

A simple History

I was born in 1992 and raised in Port Townsend, WA. Being born in the 90's I grew up in the prime of the video game industry. Playing my first video games on a DOS computer before finally upgrading to a NES when I was 7. Moving onto games such as Crash Bandicoot on the Playstation and eventually Jet Set Radio Future on the XBox, I was hooked from a young age. Video games have always been a major part of my life, even when they weren't its core.

I was raised in a pizza restaurant learning the values of a good work ethic, communication, and cooperation. Even working full time during highschool wasn't enough to keep me busy. Spending my days on school computers working on graphic and multi-media design, and my nights doing calculus homework and playing Call of Duty.

Graduating from Port Townsend High School in 2010, I began attending the Digipen Institute of Technology later that year for my Bacholers of Science in Computer Science and Game Design. While at Digipen I developed and produced several games. Mostly notably Vapor, a 3D isometric dual stick shooter set in a medival meets steampunk society, and Coffee Break, a retro-futuristic fight club for over stressed office workers.

I interned in DigiPen's R&D department working on the Zero Engine Team while I finish my last year of school. This led to a full time position as a technical writer and software developer. Mainly I was working creating features demos and documentation for the Zero Engine, a 3D game engine originally developed in DigiPen RnD which is now open source.

Currently I am almost 2 years into a contract position at Mojang working on Minecraft: Education Edition as a software development engineer.
